Story, Leadership, and Creative Purpose
Dara Symone Prentiss is a Richmond, Virginia native and a proud Spelman College alumna. She works at the intersection of arts, storytelling, and community engagement, using creativity to bring people together and amplify independent voices.
While continuing to freelance as an engagement events and independent film producer, Dara also serves as the Founder and Lead Producer of Fyne Prent Productions, is a founding member of the Cap City Collective, and actively works as the Operations Manager and Head of Member Services at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of Virginia.

Where Theater, Storytelling, and Community Meet
Dara is happiest at the crossroads of theater and community-centered innovation. Her work reflects a deep commitment to using storytelling as a way to inspire, educate, and connect people.
One of her most meaningful accomplishments was leading the youth of Club Corazón in a reader’s theater production of “Los Tres Cerditos” (The Three Little Pigs)—a project that combined creativity, education, and youth empowerment.

Dara primarily focuses on projects by independent artists, supporting emerging voices and unique creative visions.

Dara’s first solo film, SAFE, is scheduled to begin filming in winter 2025.
A Creative Life Beyond the Screen and Stage
Alongside producing and writing comedy, Dara also enjoys leading workshops, traveling, freelancing, and painting.
