Dara Symone Prentiss
Dara Symone Prentiss is a Richmond, Virginia native and proud alumna of Spelman College. She currently freelances as an engagement events and independent films producer, hails as Founder and Lead Producer of Fyne Prent Productions, a founding member of the Cap City Collective, and a founding partner of The Bridgewell Trust. She most recently served as the Operations Manager and Head of Member Services at the Black History Museum and Cultural Center of VA and Event Liaison for Red Indigo Foods
She is happiest at the crossroads of theater and community engaged innovation and continues to pursue her passions everyday.Her most prized accomplishment is leading the youth of Club Corazon in a reader’s theater production of “Los Tres Cerditos” (The Three Little Pigs)
She has previously served as the Entertainment Manager aboard Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line, the Drama Club Coordinator for Petersburg High School and a guest Director for The East End Player’s presentation of ‘The Wiz’.
Primarily focusing on work by independent artists, Dara’s working credits include the music visual ‘Blychedelic’ (Soul Center Atlanta 2020), short film ‘A Family That’ ( CLA Studios Chicago 2021), and short film Ninki Nanka (Afrikana Film Festival Richmond 2023). Having successfully shot her proof of concept she is currently fundraising for her first solo film SAFE, set to film in 2026.
Alongside producing and writing comedy, she also enjoys leading workshops, traveling, freelancing and painting.
